Test method for determination of oxidation of coal. reating a classification of oxidized coals and determining the directions of their effective use.
This standard applies to low and medium rank coals (brown coal and lignites,) hard coal, by-products and sets up petrographic oxidation stage test method and coal oxidation level.
The standard is intended for use by manufacturers (suppliers) and coal consumers, government agencies, certification bodies compliance, testing laboratories, research and development organizations, other legal entities and individuals working with coal
The degree of oxidation is determined by quantifying under a microscope the content of the altered mass of coal formed during low-temperature oxidation. An indicator of the oxidation of coals was developed. An indicator of the oxidation of coals of is the content of weathered mass, reflecting chemical changes in the substance of coal.
This project applies to brown coals and wood coals, hard coals belonging to low and medium rank coals. The indicator of oxidation according to this standard is the content of weathered mass, reflecting chemical changes in the substance of coal, reflecting the stages of oxidation and the degree of oxidation depending on the stage of coal metamorphism. The standard takes into account the classification of coals according to the international system.
The draft standard being developed should contribute to:
- improvement of the method for determining the stages of oxidation and the degree of oxidation of coals;
- creating a classification of oxidized coals and determining the directions of their effective use;- elimination of technical barriers to coal trade on the international market.
