Scope

BS 3G 100-2.3.12 specifies tests to demonstrate that the equipment including materials, components or sub-assemblies (incorporating joints, welds or bonds) from which the equipment is constructed will not be unacceptably affected by contaminating fluids to which it or they may be exposed.

Purpose

The tests in BS 3G 100-2.3.12 should be specified when there is a real risk of fluid contamination, either occasional, intermittent or extended, under normal conditions of operation.
