CEN/TC 226 – Draft Decision D773c/2023 (WG 3) Adoption of PWI for the revision of EN 12899-1:2007 Fixed, vertical road traffic signs — Part 1-3: Supports

Scope

This document specifies requirements and test methods for supports. This standard covers a number of different performance requirements that have to be fulfilled (resistance to horizontal loads, performance under impact, durability etc.).

This standard does not cover:

a) sign gantry and cantilever structures;

b) foundations

Purpose

The EN 12899 series is composed of:

- 3 product standards (EN 12899-1, EN 12899-2 and EN 12899-3)

- 2 testing and control standards (EN 12899-4 and 12899-5)

The aim of the revision is:

- to technically update the standard series

- to merged testing and control standards into each product standard

- to split the EN 12899-1 into 4 different parts (EN 12899-1-1, EN 12899-1-2, EN 12899-1-3, and EN 12899-1-4)

- Adaptation to the CPR
