Scope

This European Standard specifies the performance requirements and test methods for retroreflective sign face materials. This standard covers a number of different performance requirements that have to be fulfilled (visual performance, durability etc.)

Purpose

The EN 12899 series is composed of:

- 3 product standards (EN 12899-1, EN 12899-2 and EN 12899-3)

- 2 testing and control standards (EN 12899-4 and 12899-5)

The aim of the revision is:

- to technically update the standard series

- to merged testing and control standards into each product standard

- to split the EN 12899-1 into 4 different parts (EN 12899-1-1, EN 12899-1-2, EN 12899-1-3, and EN 12899-1-4)

- to include micro-prismatic sheets (so far under EAD)

- Adaptation to the CPR
