Standards Development
This part of BS 6262 is being prepared as part of the BS 6262 series, it will partially supersede BS 6262:1982, which will be withdrawn upon publication of all seven parts of the revised and restructures BS 6262. This Part 5 will be the last part to be published. This part of BS 6262 gives recommendations for the design of framing systems, selection of glazing system, material and glazing instructions for the glazing of glass and plastic glazing sheet materials in buildings. To include recommendations on:
1. Glazing materials – type and selection
2. Frame dimensional recommendations for glass and plastic glazing sheet materials
3. Glazing and fixing techniques for glass and plastic glazing sheet materials
4. Check sheet for frame type and glazing solution
Under the direction of the Standards Policy & Strategy Committee is responsible for the UK input into CEN/TC 129 and ISO/TC 160, their related sub-committees and working groups in the development of Standards for Glass and Glazing in Buildings.
