Scope

This document specifies the package structure with reference files using a predefined schema for exchange of product data and documents. The usage covers but not limited to a set of products with related data, documents and defined product classification.

Purpose

The aim of the document is to make the representation and exchange of data much easier as it is today. All the information for a product today is exchanged by single files, so the supplier and the consumer of the data must take care of which files belong together. With the new proposal it is possible to collect and send all the information in one file as a bundle. This lead to more quality and less mistakes in the process.

A working document has already been prepared by ISO/TC 29/WG 34 but due to time constraints, the project needs to be registered in the work programme of ISO/TC 29.
