Scope

This document will specify methods for the determination of the bulk density of rock.

This document is applicable to the laboratory determination of the bulk density of rock samples

Purpose

There is no ISO or EN/ISO standards for rock mechanics laboratory tests.

The Eurocode 7 – part II needs EN or EN/ISO standards that can be referred to for rock engineering designs. In accordance with the decision from CEN-TC 250/SC7/WG1/TG3-REP, this standard is considered as a priority for the Eurocode 7 and the design in rock engineering.
