This document specifies a method for estimating the transfer of mineral oil saturated hydrocarbons (MOSH) and mineral oil aromatic hydrocarbons (MOAH) from food contact materials manufactured with portions of recycled pulp. The method is suitable for examining the extent of migration from paper and board equipped with a barrier or other measures
Mineral oils (MOSH/MOAH) can be found in paper and board products which are used for food packaging. The migration of these substances should be avoided to the greatest extent possible. One such possibility are barriers on the food contact material. The proposed technical specification aims to specify the test conditions for a quality classification of such barriers.
