PWI Adoption - Tractors and agricultural machines – Visibility of self-propelled machinery – Part 2: Specific requirements and test of self-propelled machinery

Scope

This document specifies a static test method for determining and evaluating the operator’s field of view on a rectangular boundary around the machine and on a 12 m visibility test circle (VTC).

It is applicable to the self propelled agricultural machines that have a seated operator, and which are intended to operate on fields and travel on public roads. It provides visibility performance criteria for machines machine family listed in Table 1.

Purpose

To cover the visibility aspects in agricultural machinery, giving the general/comon safety aspects as well as a test method and acceptance criteria for direct and not direct visibility.

These aspects are not sufficiently covered in the current safety standards and should complete the series EN ISO 4254 as well as the European stand-alone standards on agricultural machinery.
