Scope
This technical specification stipulates the terms, classification, and sampling specifications of SRF burned in coal-fired power plants. It is applicable to all kinds of coal-fired power generation boilers, and other coal-fired industrial boilers can also use the specification as a reference.
Purpose
Coupling power generation (CPG) by coal-fired boilers with incineration of SRF is mature and has obvious advantages. It can alleviate the overcapacity of large coal-fired units. Preliminary statistics demonstrate that there are about hundreds of related projects around the world.ISO/TR:2021 provides a specific guidance for the use of SRF in cement kilns, coal-fired power plants, etc. However, coal-fired power plants have their own unique characteristics. Typically, for reasons of corrosion, slagging, and organized combustion conditions, coal-fired boilers have specific requirements on the alkali metal and halogen contents of SRF.
On the other hand, considering the current context of international energy and carbon neutrality, it is in favor of reduction the use of fossil energy and CO2 emissions, optimizing the energy structure as well as solid waste utilization efficiently by coupling power generation (CPG) by coal-fired boilers with incineration of SRF, which creates enviromental and economic benefits.
Based on the above considerations, it is necessary to develop a technical specification to guide coupling power generation (CPG) by coal-fired boilers with incineration of SRF, so as to further promote the utilization of SRF.
This proposal aims to give the terminology, sampling method and specification for SRF in coal-fired power plants, as well as the SRF classification and classification indicators closely related to coal-fired power plants, such as calorific value, halogen, alkali metal, mercury, sulfur, providing a comprehensive set of principles and requirements for SRF manufacturers, product suppliers, market regulators and users of coal-fired power plants.
