Standards Development
This part of IEC 63093 specifies the dimensions that are of importance for mechanical interchangeability for a preferred range of U-cores made of ferrite and the essential dimensions of coil formers to be used with them, as well the effective parameter values to be used in calculations involving them. It also gives guidelines on allowable limits of surface irregularities applicable to U-cores.
IEC63093-15 is a part of IEC 63093 standard series which specifies the dimensions and the limits of surface irregularities for U-cores made of soft ferrite materials. U-cores have the advantages of simple structure, easy to be manufactured, easy to heat dissipation, and easy to lead out the thick winding wire. Therefore, U-cores are widely used, especially in the field of high voltage and high power applications, the production and sales of the cores are very large. Developing this standard is conducive to the establishment of a more perfect standard system for ferrite cores, to improve the technical and quality level of related products, and to promote their production and trade.
