Scope

‘With the European Commission implementing decision M/584 of 01/08/2022 a standardisation request is launched to the European Committee for Standardisation and the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardisation as regards plastics recycling and recycled plastics in support of the European Strategy for Plastics in a Circular Economy.

In reply to this standardisation request CEN/TC254/SC 2 has committed to develop a European standard on plastics recycling and recycled plastics for plastic waterproofing sheets. This CIB-NWI is for approval to start the work.

This standard would cover the typical waterproofing systems, the collection of plastic sheets to be recycled, the characterization of the plastic recyclate, the quality assurance of the plastic recyclate and the recycled content. For more context on M/584 and a list of TC's involved, See N2131’
