Standards Development
This International Standard establishes the general specifications, requirements and tests for decomposition blockers located on the high-pressure side in battery vehicles and gas containers as defined in EN 13807 or in acetylene bundles as defined in ISO 10961 or in filling systems.
The application of decomposition blockers for high pressure acetylene is requested in “ISO 10961:2019 Gas cylinders – Cylinder bundles – Design, manufacture, testing and inspection” and in “EN 13807: 2017 Transportable gas cylinders – Battery vehicles and multiple-element gas containers (MEGCs) – Design, manufacture, identification and testing. Until today no standard exists to describe the requirements and tests for these decomposition blockers. To ensure the reliable safety-related function of the devices according to the conditions of use, a standard shall be established.
