Standards Development
The TR provides detailed information for compatibility evaluation and qualification of materials used in the gas infrastructure (transport and distribution networks of fuel gas), fed by admixture of natural gas and hydrogen (blending) or pure hydrogen.
It includes the following items:
- specific requirements for all relevant metallic materials;
- specific requirements for all relevant non-metallic materials;
validation tests for materials not included in the above specific requirements
The TR has the purpose to:
give detailed requirements on legacy and new materials of gas infrastructure completing some aspects of CEN/TR 17797;
support the revisions of in-progress product standards for gas infrastructure equipment;
have “at the same page” all involved TCs (inside and/or liaised with CEN/TC 234) on material requirements for legacy and new materials used in gas infrastructure fed by admixture of natural gas and hydrogen (blending) or pure hydrogen. The TR should be restricted to following service conditions:
admixture of natural gas and hydrogen, with hydrogen percentages greater than 10% (up to 100%),
for inlet pressures up to 100 bar,
temperature range from -20 ° C to + 60 ° C
