BS XXXX Test method for the assessment of performance for chemical inhibitors for use in heating and cooling systems

Scope

This Standard specifies a test method for the assessment of performance for chemical inhibitors for corrosion and scale inhibition and compatibility with non-metallic components in systems.

Additional information:

BS 7593:2019 is now referenced in Part L building regulations. Testing of the chemicals used need to be referenced through a British Standard, which this proposed document is intended for.

This proposed BS is aimed at heating and cooling system industry, manufacturers, suppliers of chemical inhibitors, water treatment specialists, consultants, and testing laboratories.

BS 7593 is an industry code of practice on how to prepare circulating water during the initial commissioning (or re-commissioning) of domestic central heating and water cooling systems.

It also covers ongoing water treatment to ensure consumers enjoy optimum, efficient, trouble-free performance and protection against premature failure.

Purpose

CII/62 will be responsible for the development of this new British Standard.
