Scope

This part of ISO 20342 specifies requirements and gives guidance on the procedures in the testing of strength and impact additional to ISO 20342-1 for assistive products for tissue integrity when lying down. This document describes particular tests for APTIs as covered in ISO 20342-1.

Purpose

To provide direction for testing and dissemination of critical performance characteristics of APTIs which will aid in selection and application of APTIs to improve the interaction between the APTI and the occupant. This will improve caregiver’s ability to maintain tissue integrity.
