Fumed alumina is a nano-scale, white and fluffy powder produced by the high-temperature flame hydrolysis of aluminium chloride. Fumed alumina, a special wavelength-selective material, which has high ultraviolet (UV) light reflectance and good visible light transmission, can enhance performance of reflector layer in fluorescent lamp coating applications. Fumed alumina has also positive surface charge and low water content, which can greatly increase the powder loading rate and promote freeflow in powder coating application. Due to the high hardness and excellent chemical stability, A small amount addition of fumed alumina can also remarkably improve the wear and corrosion resistance to the paints and vanishes.
Fumed alumina is an important functional additive in paints and varnishes applications. Provide a document to specify fumed alumina requirement is essential for both manufacturers and users to develop a high-performance paints and varnishes. Further, it also facilitates the communication among interested parties.
