BS 376-1:2012 Railway signalling symbols. Specification for schematic symbols

Scope

The standard was last revised in 2012. Since then additional symbols for equipment and systems have been introduced which need to be included.

Failure to maintain a comprehensive list of symbols generates a risk of confusion impacting on railway safety, particularly where suppliers may be working for a number of different railway infrastructure operators.

Purpose

Existing sub-committee GEL/9/1 is already in place and will develop the amendment.
