This standard is applicable to automotive LPG for use in LPG engine vehicles designed to run on automotive LPG.
EN 589 needs to be revised in terms of adjustments to current and future needs. During the discussion the need for an increase of the vapour pressure was identified in order to adjust the LPG quality to future needs of the automotive industry and legal requirements concerning exhaust emissions and CO2 footprint improvement. In addition the wording of the standard will be modified in order to allow hydrocarbon gases from other than petroleum sources.
