TC 59X/Sec0827/NP Surface cleaning appliances - Part 7: Dry cleaning robots for household or similar use - Methods for measuring the performance

Scope

This part of IEC 62885 is applicable to dry-cleaning robots for household use or under conditions similar to those in households. The purpose of this document is to specify the essential performance characteristics of dry-cleaning robots that are of interest to users and to describe methods for measuring these characteristics.

Due to nature of the way this product operates in the home, comparisons with other types of surface cleaning appliances (e.g. dry vacuum cleaners) should not be made unless otherwise indicated. The cleaning performance methods, in particular, should only be used to make comparisons with other dry-cleaning robots and not with manually operated vacuum cleaner products.

This document is concerned neither with safety requirements nor with performance requirements

Purpose

As IEC/ASTM dual logo standards are not covered by the Frankfurt Agreement and therefore are exempted from parallel voting, this NWIP is necessary for the EN version of the amendment.

National Standardization Bodies are asked to vote on this NWIP which intents a publication of a triple logo standard EN IEC/ASTM 62885-7:2020/AMD1:2022, Amendment 1 - Surface cleaning appliances - Part 7: Dry cleaning robots for household or similar use - Methods for measuring the performance.
