Scope

This European Standard specifies requirements and test methods for spray pattern sprinklers with a k-factor of at least K160, extended coverage sprinklers of at least K80 and control mode special application sprinklers of all k-factors.

This document does not apply to concealed, conventional, flat spray, flush and recessed sprinklers.

Purpose

The purpose of this work item is to produce an agreed set of requirements and test methods of spray pattern sprinkler, extended coverage sprinkler and CMSA sprinklers for use in fixed firefighting systems. The motivation is to improve and harmonise levels of reliability, performance and improve interoperability.
