Find out what cookies we use and how to disable themFollowing the Systematic Review of EN 10168:2004, in reviewing the comments submitted, (N319) the SC took a decision at its plenary on 7 April 2020 to pursue an update to the EN based on concerns that, where lengthy supply chains are in place, documentation may not accurately describe the product at all positions along the chain. The proposed update is intended to align with an update to EN10021:2006 and EN 10204:2004 and to improve the definitions for clarity, and flexibility and transparency.
Note: This was originally agreed to be started as an active work item, but subsequently it was determined that a PWI should commence first.

This European Standard lists the information that may be communicated and includes a brief description in the inspection documents of iron and steel products as described in EN 10021 and EN 10204. By laying down standardized designations and definitions for information likely to appear in inspection documents and by introducing code numbers for each of the designated sections, this European Standard intends to contribute to the elimination of communication difficulties in European trade.
