This document specifies requirements (content limit) and a test method for isothiazolinones in aqueous toy materials.
Legal limit values for isothiazolinones have been introduced to European toy legislation by Commission Directive (EU) 2015/2117. A draft standardization request is available which request the elaboration of a standard to address limits on certain isothiazolinones in order to provide a tool of assessing compliance with the law. Furthermore, an agreement between CEN and the European Commission (SA 2018-06) has been concluded which includes the development and validation of a test method for isothiazolinones (content limit) and the elaboration of a standard based on this test method.
