Revision of EN 16798-1 Energy performance of buildings - Indoor environmental parameters - Part 1.3: Design and assessment of indoor air quality

Scope

Scope will be further developed in collaboration with the other parts 1.1, 1.2, 1.4, 1.5 of this standard. Here is a draft proposal based on existing EN16798-1:

EN 16798 – 1.3 specifies indoor air quality parameters and is applicable where the criteria for indoor air quality are set by human occupancy and where the production or process does not have a major impact on indoor air quality.

This European Standard includes design criteria for the ventilation of buildings in both residential and non-residential buildings. This standard sets criteria for the indoor air quality based on existing standards and reports listed under normative references or in the bibliography.

This European Standard does not specify design methods, but gives input parameters to the design of building ventilation, heating and cooling.

This standard provides data and classification to be used in EN 16798-1.1 for energy performance of buildings aspects. The recommended criteria in this European Standard can also be used in national calculation methods.

Purpose

All involved TC’s (156, 169, 126, 228, 371) agreed to revise this standard 16798-1 to improve it’s structure and align the different parts according the opinions of the related TCs
