This document specifies recommendations for the design of plastic products used in road vehicles to facilitate separation and recycling after shredding.
Recyclability of vehicles needs being improved to achieve the use of 10 million ton recycled plastics in products by 2025 Circular Plastics Alliance. In other words, automotive plastic products should be designed in a friendly way to current recycling technologies. Post Shredder Technology is currently the most common used technology for recycling of used automotive plastic products. Therefore, it is essential for European automotive industry to develop best practices to design automotive products to facilitate Post Shredder Technology recycling.
