CEN/TC 191 N 1995, prEN 14972-12 Fixed firefighting systems — Water mist systems — Part 12: Test protocol for commercial deep fat cooking fryers for manual nozzle system (14972-12)

Scope

This document specifies the evaluation of the fire performance of water mist systems used for fire protection of commercial deep fat cooking fryers.

This document covers the area of the fryer and its close vicinity only and does not include surrounding areas beyond that the system is intended to cover.

This document includes protection of the cooking area, filters and exhaust hood and duct against fires originating from the fryer. This document covers only manual nozzle systems.

Info: In communication with CEN/TC 191/WG 6 this document will cover only manual water mist systems. The scope and title has been modified, since the PWI proposal, accordingly.

Purpose

There is a need to set up minimum test requirements to properly evaluate water mist systems to be installed.

As the work in CEN/TC 191/WG 10 has gone ahead enough, we want to activate this project.
