Adoption of a PWI - Vapour products - Vaping products - Requirements and test methods for emission

Scope

The standard defines the instructions for use to be used in order for products to comply with TPD requirements as far as quality and safety aspects of the products are concerned.

Through the Article 20, the Tobacco Product Directive requires to declare the emissions generated from a vaping device. The directive also requires providing information on nicotine consistency under normal conditions of use. Therefore, this document specifies the requirements used to test emission from vaping devices.

Note: in case the WI is based on documents from other organizations than ISO/IEC, please specify it here

Purpose

This document specifies the requirements to be used to test emission from vaping devices.

It applies to emissions from disposable electronic cigarettes, and from electronic cigarettes fitted with specific sealed cartridges or with refillable cartridges, whether or not containing nicotine. It also applies to emissions from e‐liquids, whether or not containing nicotine, when used in electronic cigarettes fitted with sealed or fillable cartridges.

Due to the hand assembled, rebuildable devices are excluded to the scope of this document.
