The international standardization of rungs for dog-step ladder is extremely important. The effective international standard of rungs for dog-step ladder is ISO 9519:1990, which is issued on 1990. In the past 30 years, with the rapid development of shipbuilding technology, relevant international and national maritime organization rules and specifications have been issued, ISO 9519:1990 is obviously not comply with the requirements and the current needs of design, production and manufacturing for the rungs for dog-step ladders nowadays.
