Amendment for EN 1756-1:2021 Tail lifts - Platform lifts for mounting on wheeled vehicles - Safety requirements - Part 1 - Tail lifts for goods

Scope

• the removal/rewording of ‘Non-intended use can include:— lifting of persons other than the operator, in particular disabled persons’ from 7.3 and the inclusion of ‘that the user must ensure that no other persons are in the danger zone during lifting and lowering’ or similar in 7.4.2.3;

• reference in the installation instructions to check whether the hydraulic lines and hoses are protected in accordance with ISO 4413;

• the possible removal of ‘The list is not exhaustive and other methods may be used which achieve an equivalent level of safety’ from Annex B.1;

• the inclusion of a table in Annex B to show which protective measures are mandatory, or additionally recommended, or not applicable, for which type of control unit during lifting and lowering respectively; and

• the possible deletion of B.2.8 ‘Assigned operator position’.

Purpose

Technical comments were received during the formal vote for EN 1756-1:2021. A new work item proposal for an amendment is proposed to make minor changes to the standard.
