This European Standard defines the minimum requirements for the design and performance of foldable patient transfer chairs, which are used for the conveyance of patients to and/or from road ambulances. It aims to ensure patient safety and to minimize the physical effort required by staff operating the equipment.
Follow up of Decision 202108 taken at 35th plenary meeting.
Within the revision, the standardisation mandate M/575 for Medical Devices will be considered to support the Regulation (EU) 2017/745.
Furthermore new technologies will be adopted which willopen up new opportunities crucial for ergonomic improvements for the ambulance staff.
Also changes from the latest EN 1789 version and the remaining EN 1865 series will be reflected.
