Scope

The standard specifies the measurement of the performance of appliances burning wood or pellet and safety tests burning wood or pellet and in transitory from one fuel to another.

Products are excluded if:

• burns simultaneous wood and pellet with a single exhaust outlet

• pellet appliances with non-automatic loading

• products with single combustion chamber and double smoke outlet

Purpose

The project is to be developed in response to Mandate M/577, the Commission implementing decision on a standardisation request to the European Committee for Standardization as regards space heating appliances in support of Regulation (EU) No 305/2011 of the European Parliament and of the Council, which was approved by the Commission on 2021-07-29 and accepted by CEN on 2021-08-25.
