It also establishes procedures for computation of colorimetric parameters for graphic arts multispectral images including inline colour measurements. The scope includes but is not limited to the preparation of material for, and volume production by industrial printing on flat decorative surfaces such as papers, wood-based panels, mineral material panels, laminates and plastic edges. Based on two given multispectral images a method for comparing the perceptual similarly of two registered regions of interests is provided.
Based on the motivation for part 1 to provide a family of standards that serve for the industry as guidance and to make informed decisions about the quality of multispectral imaging systems this second part defined the aim values and tolerances for the decorative printing markets. This segment is characterized by particularly demanding customers and such an ISO standard would outline the foundations for objective measurements of pictorial designs. This would strongly avoid dispute and conflicts based on visual judgements.
