Scope

This International Standard defines terms to use in research work, official regulations, design, manufacture, installation and use of milking machines for cows, water buffaloes, sheep, goats or other mammals used for milk production.

Purpose

ISO 3918 needs to be revised to support the updates of ISO 5707 (Construction and performance of milking machine installations) and ISO 20966 (Automatic milking installations — Requirements and testing)proposed in parallel.
