Standards Development
This part of ISO 3834 gives guidelines for the implementation of requirements given in the other parts of ISO 3834, and is intended to help manufacturers and users select that part of ISO 3834 appropriate to their needs. It is expected that they will already be familiar with ISO 3834 as a whole.
ISO has refused to publish ISO/TR 3834-6 for editorial reasons, see justification below. Therefore, it is proposed to publish the ISO/TR 3834-6 as an ISO standard. The submission of the TR was rejected for the following reasons, see below for the details. ISO 3834-6 should preferably be changed to TS or PAS. TS would make more sense given the purposes of the document and also noting the DTR received 100% approval so the 2/3rd majority needed for approval for TS shouldn’t be an issue. PAS is lower approval level but has limited life span. For switching to TS or PAS, a NP is necessary.
