Scope

This European Standard specifies the requirements for uncoated high strength steel strands or zinc or zinc alloy coated high strength steel strands, encapsulated with wax and a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) sheath for construction applications.

Purpose

This standard will specify the requirements of waxed and sheathed strands used in construction applications, in particular as part of stays in stay-cable structures. This standard will facilitate the technical and commercial relationships between the manufacturers and purchasers/users of these products.
