It provides requirements for the test form and measurement devices to be used as well as the formulas to compute the colour graininess score (SCG).
The available graininess specification only cover graininess variation based on lightness differences. There is a lack of an easy to use, practical agreed upon method the evaluate the colour graininess of a printed matter. This works nicely extends the intended framework of the ISO 18621 family. The potential users are both manufacturers and print service providers since the main prerequisite is a calibrated and profiled scanner.
