This International Standard specifies a method for the determination of the dry rubber content of natural rubber field latex. The method is not necessarily suitable for latices preserved with potassium hydroxide, latices from natural sources other than Hevea brasiliensis, or for compounded latex, vulcanized latex or artificial dispersions of rubber and it is not applicable to synthetic rubber latices.
This new ISO standard allows for the determination of dry rubber content in natural rubber field latex. Currently there is no ISO test method available for the determination of dry rubber content in natural rubber field latex. The proposed test method will be an important document to those who seek for field latex determination of DRC.
This new ISO standard specifies procedures for sampling of natural rubber field latex that are entirely fluid at the time when the samples are taken and at the time when tests are carried out. The latex must not have been submitted to any type of concentration process.
