Scope

This European Technical Specification specifies the test methods, the experimental setup and result analysis for the laboratory qualification of stationary equipment within a RWIS.

Purpose

The revision of the EN 155183 standard has become urgently necessary (see Revision Work item for EN 155183). Due to the now very common use of noninvasive (remote) sensors, it is necessary to develop test procedures for the new technologies in coordination with the specifications and requirements in EN 155183. The test procedures for qualifying the embedded road sensors are completely unsuitable for these technologies. In addition, new knowledge has been gained for many of the existing test procedures in TS 155184, which make a revision urgently necessary too.

The experts of the task group agree that the revised TS should also continue to be published as TS, since both the noninvasive technologies and the test methods are still very much in development.
