Scope

The Technical report assesses the need for specific quality assurance measures for the test methods which have been developed by CEN/TC 351/WG 1 and CEN/TC 351/WG 5. It shows which measures could be taken and demonstrates their effectiveness.

Purpose

The purpose is to develop a CEN/TR on laboratory quality assurance systems. The need for such a WI is explained in document CEN/TC 351/WG 1 N 1116. Previous experience as well as the results of the interlaboratory tests show that specific quality measures in addition.to the general requirements from ISO 17025 are needed. A single participation in an interlaboratory test is insufficient for a laboratory to qualify for the testing of the release of dangerous substances from construction products. Additional specific quality assurance measure may contribute to consistently reliable test results.
