ISO/NP 16000-43 Indoor air -- Part 43: Standard method for assessing the reduction rate of culturable airborne fungi by air purifiers using a test chamber

Scope

This document specifies a standard method to evaluate airborne fungi reduction capacity of air purifier used to clean the air living environment.

The test is applicable to any air purifier which are used in residential space.

Purpose

A variety of products that can reduce airborne fungi such as air purifier, air sterilizer have been developed. But test methods to evaluate them do not exist at home and abroad. So, the development of standardized test methods need.

Current anti-fungal test methods is limited to test building materials and functional materials domestically and internationally, and the airborne microorganisms (fungi, bacteria) detection methods have been proposed, but airborne microorganisms reduction test method has not been proposed. The proposal content of this test method is, after injecting a constant concentration of target fungi inside the test chamber(8000 L) designed to simulate the actual space and operating air purification products (air cleaner, air sterilizer, etc) for a certain time, to evaluate the reduction efficiency by comparing the concentration of fungi of work before/after(use air sampler by impaction.
