This standard deals with all of the significant hazards, hazardous situations or hazardous events relevant to aluminium stage decks and frames when they are used as intended and under conditions of misuse reasonably foreseeable by the manufacturer. If these products become components of a built environment, then structural requirements shall be taken into consideration.
This standard shall not apply to the scaffolds used as substructures in stage and studio operation in accordance with the standard series EN 12810 and EN 12811 and not for fairground rides in accordance with EN 13814-1.
The purpose of this proposal is to establish an EN Standard that defines the minimum quality and safety requirements for the design and manufacture of aluminium decks and frames used in the entertainment industry on the basis of the German national standard DIN 15921:2015-09. The justification for this proposal is the existing lack of standards requirements for the design and manufacture of aluminium decks and frames used in the entertainment industry in many CEN member states, which impairs a common levl of sufficient product safety and free movement of goods.
