Scope

This Technical specification gives guidance for the design of a roof waterproofing system mechanically fastened to the structural deck in relation to wind load resistance.

This document is intended to be used together with EN 16002 and EAD-030351-00-0402-2019.

This guideline does not include the separate fastening requirements of the insulation boards, the securement to upstands, perimeter fastening, flashings or other roof details.

Purpose

Design concept guideline for mechanically attached single ply and bitumen single and multi-layer systems, transparent to use and with the objective to avoid unnecessary full-scale testing in different types of structural decks. The concept gives guidance of good practice of installation and how to use test data from laboratory tests EN-16002 and support the usage of small scale testing and already available data in the fasteners suppliers ETA (EAD 030351) such as characteristic values for fasteners in different types of structural decks as well as characteristic values from small scale test results from field pull-out tests on specific roofing projects.
