Minimum performance on certain test fires is specified.
While testing of wetting capabilities is common for detergents (ASTM D2281, ISO 8022) and coatings at present there is no internationally recognized standard for wetting agents for firefighting and only very few national standards (e.g. NFPA 18). The international community of fire protection considers an ISO standard as international reference to testing methodology and minimum quality criterion for Class A foams valuable.
