ISO/TC 45/SC 1 N 2054, ISO/NP 8066-4 Rubber and plastics hoses and hose assemblies for automotive air conditioning - Specification - Part 4: Low vibration transmission type for Refrigerant 1234yf

Scope

This part of ISO 8066 specifies the requirements for rubber hoses and hose assemblies used for low pressure application of circulating gaseous R1234yf (tetrafluororopene) in the air-conditioning systems of automobiles. The hoses and hose assemblies are designed in such a way as to reduce vibration transmission between the engine room and the cabin. The operational temperature range is - 40 °C to +80 °C.

Due to the critical relationship between the hose and coupling for this application, a requirement that the coupling to be used in service be used for testing is laid down. ((Above statement is a draft))

Purpose

The purpose of this proposal is to develop a standard for the requirements for hoses and hose assemblies used for only low pressure application circulating gaseous R1234yf which global warming potential is extremely lower than the current R134a and designed in such a way as to reduce vibration transmission between the engine room and the cabin. This will be separate from the ISO 8066-3. This proposal also will give more definite classifications with suitable requirements for the customer to choose for their specific application This proposal will provide a silent and comfortable air-conditioning system, enhance installation workability and maintainability, and reduce the weight because of characteristics of the hose.
