Scope
This document specifies the production methods, specifications, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marks, packing, transportation and storage for prefabricated wire stay cable with hot extrusion high density polyethylene , which is made of hot-dip galvanized or zinc-aluminium coated high tensile steel wires described in the ISO 19203.
Purpose
At present, there are some local standards for prefabricated wire stay cables with hot extrusion high density polyethylene of cable–stayed bridge in the world (for example, GB/T32963, GB/T18365 of China,HBS3501 of JAPAN). But due to the insufficient availability and applicability of existing standards, these standards didn't have strong guidance for the manufacturers and users of stay cable for the international projects.
This standard will fully identify and unify the requirements for the production and use of prefabricated wire stay cables with hot extrusion high density polyethylene of cable–stayed bridge for the manufacturers and purchasers, to eliminate or reduce the communication barrier between the manufacturers and purchasers (including bridge designers, bridge engineers and bridge supervisors), and be conducive to the orderly development of prefabricated wire stay cables with hot extrusion high density polyethylene of cable–stayed bridge industry and guide the users to standardize the use. This specification can be used consistently to ensure materials, products; processes are fit for the bridge constructor, designer, engineer, supervisor and manufacturer.
