ISO/NP 5677, Testing and characterization of mechanically recycled Polypropylene (PP) and Polyethylene (PE) for intended use in different plastics processing techniques

Scope

This document specifies test methods and general characteristics for mechanically recycled PP and PE recyclates in granular or pellet form for use in different plastics processing techniques.

This document provides guidance for test methods and assessment of mechanically recycled PP and PE which can be used in different plastics processes like injection molding, blow molding, extrusion etc. This document will be helpful for the plastics processors in selecting mechanically recycled PP or PE recyclates (in granular or pellet form) based on test and characterization results as outlined in the document.

Purpose

The new work item proposed would cover test methods & characterization of all kind of PP & variants of PE recyclates which can be used in Plastics processing techniques.

Available National standards in countries across globe would be referenced to create an International document which can be a guiding document to select grade/type of recyclates (PP & PE) for different plastics processing techniques, used for variety of plastics product manufacturing.
