ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 40 N 984, ISO/IEC PWI TS 20000-12 Information technology - Service management - Part 12: Guidance on the relationship between ISO/IEC 20000-1 and service management frameworks: CMMI-SVC

Scope

This document provides a comparison between ISO/IEC 20000-1:2018 and CMMI V2.0, updating the current document. Service providers can use this comparison as a cross-reference between the two documents to plan and implement an SMS. An organization employing the practices in the indicated CMMI practice areas can conform to many of the associated ISO/IEC 20000-1 requirements.Note this is a revision of a currently published document, ISO/IEC TR 20000-12.

Purpose

Both ISO /IEC 20000-1 and CMMI have been updated since the publishing of the first edition of ISO/IEC 20000-12:2016. Organizations that use these updated documents would also benefit from a revision to Part 12. The proposed revision has significant market demand based on worldwide use of both ISO/IEC 20000-1 and CMMI-SVC. It will assist service providers interested in aligning their service management system with both internationally recognized frameworks.
