ISO/TC 184/SC 4 N 3477, ISO/NP 10303-2 Industrial automation systems and integration - Product data representation and exchange - Part 2: Part 2: STEP Vocabulary

Scope

A single published standard vocabulary of ISO 10303 including all parts with an electronic insert structured for machine reading.

Purpose

ISO 10303 consists of over a million pages of content and is provided in a unique html format consisting of documentation, requirements, terms, integrated data schemas, and diagrams. While uniquely positioned to satisfy industry needs for integrated models representing product definition data, the standard’s key elements are not easily shared with external stakeholders in industry, academia, and standards developers.

This standard will consolidate the terms from over 500 individual parts of the ISO 10303 standard into singular standard eliminating duplication of terms internally/externally to ISO. It will reduce the effort and time to release new editions to the ISO 10303 STEP Resource. The structured data in the electronic insert enables computer consumption by industry [e.g. Smart Manufacturing, Digital Twin/Thread]
