Scope

This document provides nomenclature and a two-digit coding system for tooth developmental stages to facilitate data entry and support interoperability between different data tables and dental age assessment methods.

Purpose

The purpose of this document is to provide a single unified coding system and vocabulary to allow for the unambiguous assessment of dental age development stages and interoperability between methods. Also, it will allow for the easy comparison of the data tables of the numerous methods of age assessment by dental means currently utilized.
