Technical Specification
Bearing in mind the number of member-countries with guidance in building regulations, no sufficient support from the ISO P members is awaited to develop this document immediately as a full ISO standard but first prepare this as a Technical Specification. The proposition from China anyhow demonstrates the need for a structured document as a good starting point for the gathering of guidance rules that can be accepted worldwide. The need to clarify the relation between cleaning methods and type of carpet is generally accepted to be an important element in the process to develop this Technical Specification. The final goal of this work should be to improve the manufacturer’s instructions on cleaning and maintenance in order to increase the awaited satisfaction of the end consumer faced with cleaning questions during the lifetime of the floor covering.
